Bandai Namco has shared the latest details about the next installment in the Ace Combat series. The game Ace Combat 8: Wings of Them will be released on October 2, 2026, and the developers intend to provide a comfortable gaming experience for fans and new players of the series. For this purpose, we implemented 2 control simulation options and 4 difficulty levels.
Before the flight begins, Ace Combat 8: Wings of Tef players can choose one of two control modes:
- standard. Providing intuitive control, the aircraft can turn left or right when the left stick is moved in the appropriate direction. It’s convenient and familiar to players familiar with most first- or third-person projects.
- expert. It gives the player full control over the aircraft. To turn, you must first tilt the car left or right using the left joystick, and then change the direction of flight by moving up or down. This design allows for more aerial maneuvers and more precise control of the aircraft.
For story missions, players can choose from four difficulty levels:
- “Newbie”. Let you focus on the story and plot. Additionally, you can enable or disable some parameters to reduce the damage your aircraft receives when it collides with the ground or other objects.
- “pilot”. Recommended for players who are taking the helm for the first time or who have not flown an aircraft for a long time. This is the standard difficulty level for Ace Combat 8: Wings of Them.
- “veteran”. Designed for pilots who already have extensive experience in this type of game. At this level, opponents will have more health and may also act more aggressively. Missiles become harder to dodge, and damage regeneration is more dependent on the equipment you choose.
- “Elite”. According to the developer’s description, the most difficult ones are: “A split-second decision can determine the outcome of a battle.”. Players need to maintain good positioning on the battlefield, correctly prioritize when selecting targets, and complete mission objectives while considering the safety of the aircraft.
Let us remind you that Ace Combat 8: Wings of Them is being produced on Unreal Engine 5. Furthermore, the developers previously confirmed that this will be the first project in the series to be made in a 1:1 scale.
