Developers at Rockstar have revealed new details about the music component of Grand Theft Auto VI. in official information Regarding the project’s soundtrack, the company mentioned two interesting changes compared to the previous installment: a “dynamic soundtrack” and “next-generation developments in in-game broadcasting.” How these changes operate is not yet clear.
This information comes after the release of Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, a collection of music that includes tracks written specifically for the game by Travis Scott, Keith Richards, Morgan Wallen and other artists. The soundtrack will be released on CD and vinyl.
The media speculated that “dynamic soundtrack” may refer to music that changes based on what is happening on the screen, the situation or the position of the characters. Similar systems are already used in many other games – DOOM (2016), Hades and Celeste. But Rockstar could offer its own implementation in the open world of Grand Theft Auto VI.
There are also no official details on what “the next generation of in-game radio” means. Spotify is already promoting the Grand Theft Auto 6 soundtrack, so there are rumors the music service will be more closely integrated with the project. The ability to listen to radio stations or personal songs outside the car is also discussed, something that wasn’t available before the series.
Grand Theft Auto 6 will be released on November 19, 2026 on Xbox Series X | S and Playstation 5.
