The developers of military shooter Wardogs have decided to completely remove support for the free Steam Family Sharing System. The reason for such drastic measures is the huge problem faced by dishonest players who use their home libraries to create new workarounds, deliberately sabotage matches and evade previously received bans. These changes are effective September 18, 2026.
In an official statement from Platform X, the creators emphasized that they took this step only to protect general users. Studio head and executive producer Joe Brammer succinctly commented on the situation, saying the $40 price tag will serve as a better barrier for violators.
The team has previously stated that they are not opposed to selling copies of the game to cheaters again after each lockdown, but in the context of recent failed anti-cheat updates affecting innocent players, abandoning family sharing becomes another attempt to restore order to the multiplayer game.
But here’s the question: Is the “$40 price tag as a blockade against cheaters” a joke, or does Brammer simply have no idea about the cheating situation in the industry and how much these gaming parasites are willing to pay for it?
