Polish science fiction writer Andrzej Sapkowski recently spelled out his plans for the next book in the Witcher literary series at the Copernicus Festival in Toruń.

Let us remember that last summer Sapkovsky confirmed his intention to continue his literary saga about Geralt, the Witcher of Rivia. Since then, there has been no news about this initiative, but the author does not seem to be idle.
According to the portal redanian intelligence bureauSpeaking at the Copernicus Conference, Sapkovsky said that work on the next book in the “Witcher” series is already underway and is expected to be completed by the end of 2027.

Sapkovsky warned that the announced dates are theoretical and could still change. The editor of Redanian Intelligence believes that the international release of the novel will be delayed to 2028 or even 2029.
For comparison: The latest novel in the series, “Crow’s Crossing,” premiered in Poland at the end of 2024, while international (including Russian) release had to wait until last fall.

The book is expected to be dedicated to Geralt. The author of Copernicus categorically rejected the idea of writing an offshoot about other characters, such as the witch Yennefer, because he did not see the point in it.
Meanwhile, Netflix is preparing for the final premiere of The Witcher series’ fifth season (expected in 2027), and CD Projekt Red is expected to release The Witcher 4 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X, and S in 2028.
