Bungie admits the mistakes it has made in recent years and announces the return of Destiny: via NEWXBOXONE.RU

In May of this year, Bungie announced the end of support for Destiny 2 and announced plans to focus entirely on marathon gaming. The company has recently carried out many layoffs, and insiders revealed that no one is working on two projects at the same time. Now Bungie itself has admitted the mistakes it made and announced an attempt to correct them.

Studio heads Poria Thorin and Josh Dean publish There is a letter to players on the official website titled “Bungie’s Next Chapter.” They stated in the article that the company intends to restore the trust of the audience and return to the way “Destiny” was successful. Bungie has lost the trust of players and many of its talented employees in recent years, executives say, because it didn’t focus on what they liked. Now the studio needs time to correct the situation.

About the future of destiny. Thorin noted that Bungie wouldn’t be where it is now without Destiny and wouldn’t abandon the series. The studio still has a lot of stories waiting for it, but preparing new content takes time. Dean added that the developers wanted to return to Destiny’s roots, placing a greater emphasis on project atmosphere, meaningful discovery, and bringing players together. The first step will be to restore deleted content and features in Destiny 2, and we’re not just talking about campaigns, raids, and locations. Bungie also intends to overhaul lighting, combat, and other game mechanics to restore important elements of the previous experience.

On the future of marathons. The studio will not end support for Marathon; they will share a new roadmap in the near future. Dean called the shooter an important direction for Bungie’s development, stressing that the project was never intended to replace Destiny. Executives, meanwhile, acknowledged that the marathon failed to attract enough viewers despite positive response from critics.

Speaking to players, Bungie outlined its plans: “Go back and create the games we want to play ourselves, but play them with you [игроками] “In the spotlight”.
