Although HackerVoice 38 hacked Denuvo into Ubisoft’s open-world action-adventure game Assassin’s Creed Phantoms back in the spring, it’s only now been possible to verify the game’s functionality without its shameful security system.

Let us remind you that the pirated version of Assassin’s Creed Phantoms released by voices38 was not released by Denuvo. The hacker simply bypassed the protection, not removed it – the anti-piracy mechanism was still running in the background.
A few days ago, the pirate organization Rune reported the news that “Assassin’s Creed Phantoms” was hacked. This version is designated as experimental because it completely strips the game of its protection – Denuvo and the built-in VMProtect program.
Rune’s pirated version of “Assassin’s Creed Mirage” has an executable size of 102 MB (Denuvo’s is 496 MB), and judging from the first tests, its performance is significantly improved compared to the protected version.
YouTuber Kevin of Tech Vids decided to check out how the Voices38 and Rune versions of Assassin’s Creed Phantoms perform in in-game benchmarks on a PC with an Intel Core i7-13700K processor, Nvidia RTX 5080 graphics card, and 64 GB of RAM.
verified (see video Above), the Rune version of Assassin’s Creed Phantoms compared to the version posted by voices38:
- Faster loading – both on first and subsequent launches;
- Minimum frame rate improved by 76% – 51 (with Denuvo) vs. 90 (without Denuvo);
- Average frame rate increased by 14% – 162 vs. 186;
- Almost the same maximum frame rate – 232 vs 233.
Assassin’s Creed Phantoms will be released on PC in October 2023 (EGS, Ubisoft Connect), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Series X and S, and later iPhone and steam. Last fall, the game received the free Memory Valley story expansion.
