In July of this year, as part of the Xbox reboot announcement, the Microsoft team announced that Ninja Theory would separate from Xbox Game Studios and publish the game “Senua” with a new publisher. The process is expected to be completed by late summer 2026, but no information has been released since the announcement. Now the Xbox team has announced that Ninja Theory may be shut down.
When announcing the continued restart of the gaming division, Microsoft stated the following about the future of Ninja Theory:
Unfortunately, two separate deals with Ninja Theory fell through. We will now begin consultations with staff on the proposed closure while continuing to explore other options for the future.
Additionally, the fate of Arkane Lyon Studios remains in question, as stated in the same statement:
Negotiations with Arkane are ongoing and expected to last until the end of the year.
Let us remind you that Ninja Theory studio released the game Senua in June of this year. Arkane Lyon is developing a “Blade” game, but there has been no relevant information for a long time.
