It’s the last warm day of September, but series production of AvtoVAZ’s flagship model, the new Lada Azimut crossover, has not yet begun. Fortunately, there are only a few days left, and the launch of Azimuths series production in Togliatti will take place this Friday, September 25th. At least, that’s the company’s plan, report AvtoVAZ General Manager Maxim Sokolov.
Sokolov recalled that hundreds of official pre-production versions of the Lada Azmut have been produced, but full series production will begin this Friday.
Surprisingly we still don’t know how much this car will cost. I would like to believe that at least on the day of filming, this obviously extremely unpleasant but not unexpected news for many people will be officially announced.
The current Lada Azimut will be equipped with two power units: a 1.6-liter engine with a power of 120 horsepower. and. or a 1.8-liter engine with 132 hp. and. The transmission can be a manual transmission or a continuously variable transmission, in the second case the car will receive a special “hockey ball” for selecting the driving mode – from Eco to Sport and Winter. On a manual gearbox, this is certainly not necessary, as in most cases the driving mode affects the operation of the gearbox.
