Developer Denneko Yuugi and publisher Shochiku have announced that their action roguelike game Sakura Eternal Palace will be released on PC (via Steam) and Nintendo Switch on November 5, 2026.
The game’s plot follows Retla, a cat-eared adventurer who fights with two blades and ventures into a procedurally generated dungeon that exists in a dream world. As players progress, they will collect various upgrades and abilities.
The combat system lets you combine simple attacks, dodge enemy attacks and block them with your shield. It’s designed to allow players to develop their own way of fighting without being limited to one playstyle.
One of the key mechanical devices is the tensiometer. When fully charged, you can activate an enhanced state called Hypertension, which allows you to use powerful techniques that can cause massive damage.
The character development system is supplemented by collectible upgrades called “Attributes”. These items add properties and also unlock new abilities and additional combat abilities.
