Disc-to-digital now available for all Xbox Series X players | S and Xbox One

After about a month of active testing, the disc-to-digital feature has been released to all players. Xbox Series X console owners | S and Xbox One can now convert their discs to digital versions. The program itself has several interesting features, which we’ve discussed here before.

Initially, in order to redeem a digital license using a disc under the Disc to Digital program, players had to insert the physical media into the console, point to the tile with the item, bring up the add-on menu, and click Convert. You can see the full process below.

With the latest update, this feature has become significantly more convenient. Explicit conversion now only works on the first game, while all subsequent games will automatically be converted to digital copies on first launch.

With the exception of Square Enix and Bandai Namco, almost all major publishers support disc-to-digital conversion. In total, it has been confirmed to run on more than 1570 disks, while only about 200 projects do not support it.

Microsoft does not provide an official list of games that support disc-to-digital conversion. The easiest way to find out about a specific project is to see if it is included in the plan at Fan website xct.liveplayers confirm or deny that the feature works in various games.

Note that the disc-to-digital feature allows you to “translate” Xbox Series X games to digital format, even on Xbox One consoles | S. When players receive a digital copy within the Xbox ecosystem, they can enjoy all its benefits. For example, if a game supports Play Anywhere, its project version is available not only on consoles but also on PC.
