GIGABYTE has released the compact Micro-ATX format B760M Aorus Ari WiFi6E DDR4 motherboard for the Intel LGA 1700 platform, adding PCIe 5.0 support and Aorus anime style branding. This model uses DDR4 memory instead of DDR5. This choice is made possible thanks to the B760 chipset, which supports both standards.

Given the record prices and limited availability of DDR5 memory, it seems logical to opt for the much cheaper DDR4 memory under modern conditions. The motherboard layout is almost the same as last year’s B760M Aorus Elite WIFI6E GEN5, except that DDR5 is replaced with DDR4 and Ari’s anime design is added. The new product supports Intel Core 12th, 13th and 14th generation processors and is equipped with a 12+1+1 phase circuit hybrid power subsystem (VRM).
As part of the proprietary Gigabyte VRM Thermal Armor concept, the motherboard features a heatsink to cool the VRM components, chipset and drive in the M.2 socket. Four DIMM slots support up to 128 GB of DDR4-5333 RAM (via XMP profile or manual overclocking). The main PCIe 5.0 x16 slot has a graphics card quick release mechanism, and the additional PCIe 4.0 x4 works through the chipset. To connect the drives, there are two “screwdriverless” installation M.2 PCIe 4.0 x4 connectors and four SATA III ports (6 Gb/s).
The motherboard is equipped with a 2.5 Gbit network controller and Intel Wi-Fi 6E AX210 module with Wi-Fi Compass, which automatically determines the optimal position of the antenna. The back panel of connectors has a USB-C port (20 Gbps), as well as DisplayPort and HDMI 2.1 video output that support 4K video output. The front-facing USB-C connector delivers 10 Gbps speeds, and a Realtek ALC1220 codec handles audio. Other features include Q-Flash Plus for updating BIOS without installing a processor, and Smart Fan 6 for fan control. The B760M Aorus Elite WiFi6E DDR4 motherboard is currently available in Japan for 26,800 yen ($170).
