American studio Absurd Ventures, founded by co-founder and former Rockstar Games senior writer Dan Houser, is developing two video game games, one of which is about to emerge from the shadows.

Let us remember that in August 2025, Absurd Ventures confirmed a sci-fi game set in the universe of the audio game A Better Paradise, whose events will revolve around the development of an ambitious digital gaming world in the near future.
New details developer shared on Variety’s Strictly Business podcast. Hauser said A Better Heaven is about the troubles involved in making a game and an artificial intelligence that gets out of control and becomes conscious and doesn’t like itself.

The second game developed by Absurd Ventures is an open-world comedy that emphasizes humor and character memories. Apparently, this project is the closest to being fully announced.
Houser mentioned that Absurd Ventures will share more details about the comedy game in the coming months. The studio is likely preparing an announcement for the Game Awards in December 2026.

The head of Absurd Ventures isn’t interested in Rockstar’s highly anticipated crime actioner GTA VI, but that’s not out of jealousy of his former employer: Houser eschews other people’s open-world games so they don’t affect him creatively.
