The developers of World of Warcraft: Forever broke their rule by only adding content from the original 2004 release. The famous mission “Kyle is Missing” from the 2007 expansion The Burning Crusade, created by Ezra Chatterton, a seriously ill young player who died in 2008, has officially returned to the game.
Ezra himself voices the character Ahab Mchoof, who asks players to help find his dog Kyle. Lead game designer Johnny Cash admitted that adding this emotional quest to Mulgore’s tauren starting zone was a tear-jerking experience for the team. The initiative won enthusiastic support from fans, proving that good memories and humanity are sometimes more important than any strict conceptual framework.
