At the opening of Gamescom 2026, Iceflake Studios and Paradox Interactive unveiled LEGO Skylines, a new city-building simulator. The game is being developed for PC (steam), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. A release date has not yet been announced.
LEGO Skylines will give you the opportunity to create and develop LEGO-style cities, combining infrastructure management with extensive customization of architectural and decorative elements. Players will start with a small plot of land and their first house, and gradually develop it into a full-fledged city. In order for a settlement to function properly, roads, electricity, water supply, and food production need to be organized. By then, residential areas, parks, shops, hospitals and other facilities will appear in the city.
Development will not be limited to infrastructure. The city will be able to build museums and sports venues, create cultural districts, open bakeries and even grow wheat on its own farms to produce food. As settlements expand, new buildings and services will open, increasing the city’s rating and the happiness of its residents.
LEGO Skyline will place a heavy emphasis on personalization. Players will receive a customizable set of LEGO areas, buildings and decorative elements, through which they will be able to independently determine the appearance of the city and the location of its objects.
“Most of us at Iceflake grew up building LEGO bricks, and that passion continues to this day,” said Lasse Liljedahl, co-founder and game director at Iceflake Studios. “As loyal fans, we’re excited to combine our creativity with everything we’ve learned over the years creating challenging management and simulation games.” “With LEGO Skylines, we hope to make city-building a more personalized experience, where only your imagination limits the cities you can build. We look forward to seeing players realize their dreams.”
“Building and creativity have always been at the heart of LEGO play, but LEGO® Skylines takes us into entirely new territory,” said Fredrik Loeving, senior vice president and global head of games at the LEGO Group. “We work closely with Paradox Interactive and Iceflake Studios Together, we’ve brought the LEGO experience to one of the world’s most popular game genres. From the beginning, our goal was not just to create a LEGO city-building game, but to develop a game that is considered one of the best in the genre. Whether players dream of building a vibrant metropolis, a quaint seaside town, or something they’ve never dreamed of before, they’ve never had a life and a depth that’s not available to them before. Something to create, something they had never created in life, something natural and deep, something they both had never created for them, both of them had never been to the sky and depth to create, they had never been to the depth of the sky, both of them had never been to life, something that had never been created for them, something that they had never created for them, something that they had never created for them, both of them had never been able to offer them freedom and depth.
