Korean developer Boundary and publisher KRAFTON have announced the launch of the action role-playing game “TARAE: The Unbound”. The project is created in the dark eastern fantasy setting and will offer dynamic battles, a wide variety of monsters and bosses, as well as the opportunity to play with other players in cooperative and PvP battles.
In the story, a certain exile, A Li, destroyed the boundaries of the world and tried to break the cycle of reincarnation. As a result, from the fragments of the destroyed land, Dagui Island emerged, where sources were scattered – objects capable of restoring the cycle of reincarnation. Players must explore islands and rifts in space to find them and restore the six worlds to their lost balance.
The game will feature six unique characters called “Explors.” Each of them has their own story, purpose, and karma, and as you progress, the remaining heroes will join the player as allies. The developers promise to gradually reveal the characters’ pasts and why they ended up on Dagui Island.
The combat system will be built around dynamic battles against large groups of enemies, chain attacks, and active skills. Special attention is paid to boss battles based on creatures from Eastern mythology and folklore. In order to defeat them, you need to study your opponent’s characteristics and dynamic arena, and choose the right moment to dodge and counterattack.
Each of the six classes offers its own fighting style, resources, and mechanics. Players will be able to use bladed weapons and firearms, martial arts, mystical abilities, and psychic powers. Character development will be based on a combination of class skills, traits, support skills and equipment, allowing you to create different looks even within the same class. The training level and equipment system will also be affected by concepts such as the five elements, yin and yang, karma, and reincarnation.
The project is being developed on Unreal Engine 5 and will be released on PC (steam) as well as PlayStation 5 and XBOX series S/X game consoles. A release date for TARAE: Unchained has yet to be officially announced.
