Bigby Wolf returns to screens just in time for the Halloween season: Telltale Games and co-publisher PM Studios announced a specific release date for The Wolf Among Us remake at Gamescom. The new version of 2013’s popular episodic adventure game will be released digitally on October 29, 2026, on PC (via Steam and the Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and previous-generation consoles. A newly released gameplay trailer provides an in-depth look at the graphical revisions and additional content the development studio has in store for new players and fans of the original game. The new publication also aims to shorten the wait for the second part, which is scheduled to be launched in 2027.
In terms of content, “The Wolf Among Us Remastered” will take you back to Fabletown, a hidden area in New York City, where fairy tale characters and mythical creatures live among people in disguise. You play as Sheriff Bigby Wolfe – known as “The Big Bad Wolf” – who must investigate a mysterious murder that plunges a community of fairy tale characters into chaos. The story spans all five episodes of the original game and is based on Bill Willingham’s award-winning Fables comic series.
The remake relies on a number of technical and visual improvements. These include higher-resolution textures, revised character models and environment details, and optimized lighting. The developers have also given the game a smoother frame rate and improved animations in order to transfer the dark comic aesthetic to modern platforms. The user interface and accessibility options have also been fundamentally revamped to increase the convenience of conversational decision-making and quick events.
As a further complement, the new version contains over an hour of additional material. The main menu gives you access to behind-the-scenes documentaries, voice actor interviews, unreleased concept art, and edited scenes, all of which provide insight into the creation of the title. In addition to the standard graphics style, the development team has added an optional “Black Mode” that displays the action in a stylized black and white.
