The Guild Wars 3 team has shared another preview of Tyria’s race, the asur, revealing their ambitious curiosity, how they came to Orr, their goals, and how they differ from the asur we know.
The Asuras we know used to spend most of their time underground, which affected their appearance, culture, and much of their lives. However, those who migrated to Orr long ago had a “more balanced relationship with the surface.”
The Asuras we meet in Orr look generally familiar, and while there are some differences, such as a little more hair and a little more height, deep down they’re still curious and ambitious. This curiosity initially drove the migration to Orr for decades.

Zul, an apprentice construction engineer, and her granddaughter Nyomi saw Orr after hearing stories of Orr’s mysterious magic. They founded Rata Pten, where their overland expeditions began. Later, several more people joined the laboratory, and the mysteries of magic aroused their curiosity and desire to understand, study and master magic.
As for Guild Wars 3 and Orr, Asura also heard about the migration of humans and kodan, as well as the competition surrounding magic and the ability to use magic.
