Microsoft announced on August 31 that it would release the Disc to Digital program for internal testing. It allows players to “digitize” their Xbox disc catalog. Traditionally, Microsoft teams begin testing new features at the Alpha Skip-Ahead tier, where they are available exclusively for weeks or even months. But when it comes to disc-to-digital, the number of test participants is growing at the fastest rate.
After launching the Disc to Digital program to Alpha Skip Ahead insiders on August 31, Xbox quickly added other levels of tester participation. Starting from September 1st available Players in the Xbox Insider Alpha and Beta tiers, and on September 2nd, Delta and Omega tier users will be included.
As of now, all Xbox Insiders on Xbox can try Disc to Digital | S on their Xbox One and Xbox Series report Xbox console firmware lead Eden Marie on her social network.
Currently, players have identified more than 900 games that can be played under the Disc to Digital program. Additionally, the first users of the new feature noticed the many interesting features it offers. In particular, Xbox One can be used to “digitize” Xbox Series X discs. You can even get digital licenses for certain items that have been discontinued in the Microsoft Store.
Let us remind you that disc-to-digital works as easy as possible – just insert the disc and agree to link the license to your account.
