The author of the strategy game “Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV” has released a recording of an online match in the form of “2 vs. 2”. Four employees of the King Art Corporation took part in the battle, playing in teams of two: Orks and Necron against Space Marines and Adeptus Mechanicus.
This time, the developers showed off Domination Mode, where teams need to capture control points and hold on to them to score victory points. In this case, you can end the game early by destroying the enemy’s main building.
One of the features of the team competition is the sharing economy. Capturing points for one player also generates income for his allies, even if he does not directly control the territory. Additionally, each faction uses its own mechanics:
- The Adeptus Mechanicus developed a network that connected buildings and provided various bonuses, as well as the possibility to install turrets with different weapons.
- Necron are able to place special tombs to deploy and reinforce troops.
- Orcs rely on progressively stronger units and detritus found directly on the battlefield to build objects. In addition, the units participating in the battle become stronger as experience increases, and the number of some units can also be increased.
During the game, the developers also showed off a missing unit notification system, various options for strengthening positions, and special faction abilities. In addition, the post-game statistics interface displays several different graphs and additional information.
The Imperials won the game after the Space Marines destroyed the Necron base and allowed the Allies to take control of the required number of control points.
