Bitget cryptocurrency exchange management reported a security incident recorded on September 24, 2026 at 18:31 UTC. The monitoring system recorded suspicious transfers from the platform’s hot and warm wallets. Preliminary estimates of losses were approximately $351.6 million, but the cold storage facility remained fully protected thanks to a three-tier security architecture.
Company representatives emphasized that user funds are safe and losses will be fully covered by the platform’s internal protection fund, which exceeds $464 million.
As an emergency measure, the exchange temporarily suspended withdrawals of digital assets, blocked suspicious addresses and contacted law enforcement agencies. Deposits and spot trading continue to operate normally, and the team has promised to release any updates as the investigation progresses.
