The first episode of the fourth season of NEXON’s third-person cooperative looter shooter First Descendants. The main storyline of the update is dedicated to the confrontation between the Descendants and Karel, a long-time enemy of humanity and commander of the Dark Legion of Qliphoth. After years of conflict, the story comes to the final battle. Karel attacks Albion, and the heroes must infiltrate a massive enemy warship and engage in a decisive battle. At the same time, the game also reveals previously hidden situations related to Amon and the Magister.
One of the main innovations is the giant dungeon “Karel’s Ship”. It’s on a larger scale than a traditional infiltration operation and is designed primarily for storyline purposes. Over the course of the mission, players will encounter Karel three times, with each battle taking place in a different location. As you progress, boss attacks and combat conditions change, and additional mechanics appear inside the dungeon that can be used against enemies. Initially, there are normal and high difficulties to choose from.
On September 3rd, the dungeon will open in a limited-time Conquest difficulty, which will last until October 15th as part of the event. No matter your ranking, even completing it once will bring special rewards. These include the business card and interface design of “Heroes of Dawn”, as well as the exclusive skin of the extraordinary weapon “Male Dominator”.
A new descendant named Raven has also been added to the game. She is the former head of the Albion Underground Guild and has served as an Arbiter. The character adopts a gothic style, wears a costume made of raven feathers, and has a pet raven. In combat, Raven specializes in shotgun and movement skills. She is a descendant with no attributes and uses firearms as her main source of damage. This character costs no mana and focuses on using a shield and melee attacks with a shotgun.
Another big change is the introduction of a new type of weapon called the Transcendence Weapon. Initially, 11 new such samples were added to the game. They have different firing styles, visual effects and mechanics, ranging from improved versions of existing weapons to completely new models. Extraordinary weapons introduce a quality system. As you mine these items, the minimum quality level of available weapons increases, so subsequent farming attempts gradually become more effective. Extraordinary weapons can be obtained on normal difficulty.
There is also a new challenge mode with roguelike elements. A game consists of seven areas. Before moving to the next area, the player selects a special “variant code.” These modifiers can be combined with each other to create your own combination of effects. Some of them offer features not found in other modes. By successfully choosing combinations, the character’s power increases significantly in the later stages of the passage.
For new and returning players, the developers have added a “Ready Build” system. Where you can temporarily obtain fully prepared descendant assemblies created by the development team. Such characters can participate in “Trials” even if they do not meet certain standard requirements. At the same time, players retain the opportunity to obtain extraordinary weapons, archival fragments, reactor materials, and external components.
NEXON previously confirmed further developments for this season. Ultimate Hayley and the Cradle of Evolution will be added to the game on September 17th, with new Awesome Weapons and Trigger Mods scheduled to be added on October 15th.
