Ubisoft has launched a new single-player tactical strategy game, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Tactics, developed by Ubisoft Paris. The version will be released on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, as well as cloud services GeForce Now and Blacknut, but there is no exact date yet.

For the first time in the series, players will play the role of Rainbow Force Commander “Number Six”. Under his leadership, it will be possible to form teams of four agents and send them on missions around the world. Gameplay is divided into two connected stages. At headquarters you’ll research intelligence, select warriors, develop your base and prepare for operations, then manage your troops directly on the battlefield.

Rainbow Six: Tactics takes place parallel to the events of Rainbow Six: Siege. In the story, Rainbow Squad will face a new global threat that will force the unit to conduct larger-scale operations. The campaign contains dozens of missions in different parts of the world. These include operations to rescue hostages, defuse bombs and neutralize targets. In order to complete the mission, you must consider the agent’s abilities, reconnaissance assets, gadgets, and environmental characteristics.

There are 15 agents from Rainbow Six: Siege in the game. For each mission, players will be able to assemble a team of four warriors, taking into account their unique abilities, specialized gadgets, and their own skill trees.

Destroying the environment will be an important part of the battle. Agents will be able to breach walls, change lines of sight, destroy enemy cover, and create new entry routes. Commanders can also use the breach mechanic. It allows all fighters to engage simultaneously when attacking, temporarily disrupting the normal rhythm of turn-based combat.
