Embark Studios executive producer Alexander Grøndahl has made a strong statement about the situation with dishonest players in shooter Arc Raiders, promising to fundamentally tighten penalties and improve anti-cheat systems ahead of the release of a major Frozen Trail update.
The developers recognize that the problem of unscrupulous users is causing serious damage to the game, so the studio’s policies are now as harsh as possible: a permanent ban is issued the first time, without any warning or second chance, and is supplemented by a hardware lock and strict restrictions on related licenses and accounts.
In addition, the team is using machine learning to actively improve the built-in threat detection algorithms and combat fans who play in separate lobbies with dishonest teams.
