As part of Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026, a new story trailer for Gears of War: E-Day premiered. This approximately 2-minute long video shows the beginning of the locust invasion and the story of Marcus Phoenix and Dominic Santiago.
E-Day takes place 14 years before the original War Machine during Invasion Day. The trailer shows off the chaos of the first few hours, as previously unknown creatures attack cities and destroy humanity. One of the central parts of the film is the Bravo squad that Marcus and Dom join. The heroes were ordered to hold their ground and save the remaining residents. In the film, you can see how the protagonists encounter the Locust for the first time and learn about its abilities.
Gears of War: E-Day’s story campaign can be completed entirely cooperatively with up to 4 players. At the same time, the developers also separately emphasized that they have developed a story for each character. In addition to the story campaign, the game will have 5 multiplayer modes.
Gears of War: E-Day will release on October 6, 2026 on Xbox Series X | S and PC.
