NVIDIA RTX 60 and nearly all Radeon on RDNA 5 could be delayed until 2028

It seems those looking to upgrade their graphics cards in 2027 will have to wait. According to the latest leaks, NVIDIA may push Rubin-based gaming graphics cards, including the upcoming GeForce RTX 60, to 2028. Most AMD RDNA 5 series products are said to be facing the same fate.

This information relates to Kepler_L2 insiders. According to him, NVIDIA does not plan to release a full-fledged Rubin game series in 2027. The reason has not been directly confirmed, but the most obvious explanation is TSMC’s production capacity, which is increasingly occupied by more profitable AI accelerators.

Things look a little more interesting for AMD. Most RDNA 5-based graphics cards are also not expected to appear until 2028, with the exception of one of the chips. We’re talking about the AT2, a mid-range graphics card based on the RDNA 5 architecture that could still be released as soon as 2027. Presumably, it will get 40 compute units.

If the leaks are true, the gaming graphics card market could be stuck with the current generation of graphics cards for a long time to come. NVIDIA will continue to sell Blackwell and AMD will continue to sell RDNA 4 while the new architecture awaits production. For buyers, this means there’s no reason to expect prices to drop anytime soon with the release of next-gen products.
